CIMA WT: GETTING STARTED

INSTALLING CIMA WT ON YOUR PALM-CONNECTED DEVICE

Installing Cima WT on your Palm-connected device is very easy--it is simply a matter of using the Palm Desktop application to install one or more of the following component files.

Cima.prc [REQUIRED]: You must install the CIMA.PRC file which is included in the distribution file that you downloaded. This is the program itself and must be installed in order to use Cima WT on your Palm-connected device.

CimaWT Travel Advisories.pdb: This database file is optional and you only need to install it on your Palm-connected device if you wish to be able to consult travel advisories that have been issued by the U.S. State Department. Note that the travel advisories included in this database are those that were available at the time the progarm was released and is only provided for your convenience--you should always fully research the security situation of any country you plan to visit before leaving. DO NOT USE THIS DATABASE INSTEAD OF DOING FULL AND PROPER INVESTIGATION ON THE COUNTRY YOU PLAN TO VISIT.

CimaWT Visa Requirements.pdb: This database file is optional and you only need to install it on your Palm-connected device if you wish to be able to consult visa/entry requirements that apply to U.S. citizens as reported by the U.S. State Department. Note that the visa requiremenmts included in this database are those that were available atthe time the progarm was released and is only provided for your convenience--you should always fully research and verify the visa/entry requrements before visiting any country. DO NOT USE THIS DATABASE INSTEAD OF DOING FULL AND PROPER INVESTIGATION ON THE COUNTRY YOU PLAN TO VISIT. Also, these requirements apply to U.S. citizens. The visa/entry requirements that the country may apply to citizens of other countries may vary.

CimaWT Country Background.pdb: This database file is optional and you only need to install it on your Palm-connected device if you wish to be able to consult a brief history/background of each country. This database provides a very brief background as to the origins of the country and a general overview of its current situation.

CimaWTFlags.pdb: This database file is optional and you only need to install it on your Palm-connected device if you wish to be able to view the flags of countries of the world.

MathLib.prc: This program is optional and only needs to be installed on your Palm-connected device if you want CimaWT to calculate the sunrise/sunset for cities viewed in the City Database. If this information is not important to you then you do not need to install this program. Please check your Palm-connected device before you install this program--it is very possible it is already installed and there is no need to install it again.

NOTE: MathLib.Prc is not a part of CimaWT. It is an external program that was developed to perform trigonometric calculations and was made available by the author free-of-charge to the general public for use in other programs under the

GNU Library General Public License. The source code to MathLib is available without charge here.

INITIAL SETUP OF CIMA WT

When you enter CimaWT for the first there will be a slight pause (blank screen) as CimaWT initializes the internal city and currency database. This normally takes about 2 to 3 seconds and will only occur the first time you run the application and is completely normal.

You will then be taken to a "Quick Setup" screen, shown to the right. The purpose of this screen is to allow you to provide the two basic pieces of information that CimaWT needs in order to operate properly. In both cases just click on the pop-up button to select the appropriate option.

Home City

Home Currency: You should select the world currency that you most typically use. If you live in the United States, for example, you would most probably select "USD Dollar". You can select any currency you wish, however. There is really nothing "magical" about your home currency other than the fact that it will be listed first on the Currency Conversion page.

These are the only two questions you will be asked to configure CimaWT. It will take just seconds to perform this configuration and you will only need to do it the first time you run CimaWT after initial installation.

UNINSTALLING CIMA WT FROM YOUR PALM-CONNECTED DEVICE

While it is our hope that you will find CimaWT to be a useful program and will not want to uninstall it, the possibility exists that you will eventually need to do so for any number of reasons. Uninstalling Cima WT from your Palm-connected device is as simple as deleteing it from the App Launcher.

This generally consists of:

App Launcher. Go to your App launcher screen from where you select programs.

App Menu. Tap the "Menu" button on your Palm-connected device.

Delete Option. Tap the "Delete" menu item on the drop-down menu.

Select CimaWT>. Find CimaWT on the list of applications and tap it.

Delete. Tap the delete button.

Verify. The Palm-connected device will verify that you really want to delete the application. Tap on "yes" if you are sure.

Done! You've successfully deleted CimaWT.

CimaWT does not install any hidden "cookies" or "orphaned preferences" on your Palm. When you delete CimaWT, it is completely gone.
