The Currency Conversion page was designed to display the currencies that you use most frequently and let you quickly do converions between all of them simultaneously.
In order to do a conversion enter the amount you wish to convert into the corresponding field and then tap the "equals" button at the bottom of the screen. For example, to convert 125 U.S. Dollars, tap the input field where a dollar amount is currently displayed--the enter the value 125 and tap on the equal button. At that point the numbers for the other currencies will automatically be updated to indicate what 125 U.S. dollars is worth in those currencies.
The three icons at the bottom of the screen have the following purposes:
When you run CimaWT for the first time your home currency will be assigned to the first position on the Currency Page. CimaWT will then assign a few other popular or commonly-used world currencies. However, if you are not interested in having these currencies displayed on your currency page you may delete them; likewise, you may add additional currencies to the display, or you may replace existing currencies with other currencies.
Delete a currency: To delete a currency that is currently listed on your currency page, tap on the name of the currency you wish to display. The currency selection window will appear; however, rather than selecting a currency just tap on the "Delete" button. This will remove the currency from the currency page and move any currencies listed below it up one position.
Replacing a currency: To replace a currency with another currency, tap on the name of the currency you wish to replae. The currency selection window will appear and you may select the new currency. The previous currency will be removed from the list and replaced with the one you select.
You may quickly and easily set the exchange rates for the currencies that appear on your currency page by tapping on the dollar sign graphic ($) that appears to the left of the currency name. Doing so will bring up the currency exchange rate setting screen.
When entering a new exchange rate you should enter the amount of the currency you will receive for one U.S. dollar. Even if your home currency is not the U.S. dollar, exchange rates must currently be entered in terms of the U.S. dollar. It is probable that a future version of CimaWT will allow you to enter exchange rates in terms of your non-dollar home currency, but this is currently not an option.
CONVERTING BETWEEN OTHER CURRENCIES (QUICK EXCHANGE) You may use the "Quick Exchange" option to quickly convert between currencies that are not on your currency page. This is useful if you need to convert between an unusual currency but don't expect to use that currency so often as to justify a spot on your currency page. To use Quick Exchang you should enter the amount of the value you wish to convert into the field at the top of the Quick Exchange screen, select the currency you wish to convert from and then select the currency you wish to convert to. Then click on the Calculate button to calculate what the original amount is worth in the second currency. You may tap the "Swap" button in order to swap the from/to currencies. That is, if you were converting from U.S. Dollars to Argentine Pesos (as is the case in this example) and were to tap Swap you would then be converting Argentine Pesos to U.S. Dollars. To select a currency in this screen tap the button that contains the letter of the first letter of the currency you wish to select. Currencies are usually named by the two-letter country code and the first letter of the actual currency name. So if you wanted to select "United States Dollar" you would click the "U" button to bring up all currencies that begin with "U" and then select "USD". The four buttons at the bottom of the screen have the following functions: OK: Tapping on "Ok" will select the currency that is currently highlighted in the currency list. Cancel: Tapping on "Cancel" will cancel the currency selection without adding, replacing, or deleting any currency. Set Rate: You may click this button to set the exchange rate of the currency that is current highlighted in the currency list. This is the only way to set the exchange rates for currencies that are not on your currency page. However, for those currencies that are on your currency page it is easier and faster to set the currency by clicking on the dollar sign on the currency page.
