AURORA GPS: CONFIGURATION

Documentation Main

INTRODUCTION TO CONFIGURATION SCREEN

The Configuration screen (pictured to the right) is used to modify general preferences of how Aurora GPS works. You may get to this screen from the Navigation screen by tapping the stylus anywhere in the top information bar.

Altitude: This option lets you select whether you wish to have altitudes displayed in English (feet) or Metric (meters).

Speed: This option lets you select whether you wish to have speeds displayed in English (mph), Metric (kph), or nautical miles (knots).

Distance: This option lets you select whether you wish to have distances displayed in English (miles/feet), Metric (kilometers/meters), or nautical miles (nautical miles/feet).

Baud Rate: This option lets you select the baud rate for your GPS unit. This is the speed at which data is transmitted from your GPS adapter to the Palm device. The NMEA standard states that this should be 4800 baud, but each GPS model can opt to use a different speed. If not sure, please try 4800 baud. If it doesn't work, select other baud rates. Navman m500 Users: Use 57,600 baud.

NOTE: If you use Aurora GPS, please email us and let us know what GPS model you use and what the correct baud rate was so we can let others know of the correct setting.
