Embedded/8051/8052 Development Service
Vault Information Services specializes in embedded projecs ranging from the development of simple
firmware for existing hardware designs to full hardware and firmware system design and development.
Though we specialize in the MCS-51/8051 platform, we have also worked with PIC microcontrollers as
well as other embedded MPUs. Whether your project entails time & attendance, barcode reading, data logging,
embedded USB communication, remote communication via cellular modes, or any other embedded deign, VIS is
ready to handle your software and hardware design needs and will help you identify the best platform for
your product or will develop the firmware for the platform you've already established.
VIS should be your first choice for embedded development and design. VIS's experience will
allow you to get your product to market quickly and with confidence. Companies often work with VIS in their
embedded projects because:
- Expertise: VIS, with extensive experience in 8052 software development, is
uniquely positioned to provide professional 8052 software development. VIS' specific 8052
experience includes postal sorting machines, barcode decoding, time & attendance with communication
via modem and RS-485, USB communication, keyboard implementation, and many others. Even if a
customer has the ability to develop 8052 applications, it is often useful to outsource to VIS
to tap upon our expertise. We are the 8052.com people and
author of a popular 8052 book.
- Time Constraints: Even if the client has the expertise to develop the embedded firmware, there
is insufficient time and/or resources to get it developed in-house quickly. In this case
the customer may outsource the software development so that he/she may focus resources and
expertise on the hardware, marketing the product, or on other software issues.
- Experience Constraints: If a client is working with the 8051--or any embedded platform--for the first
time, they may be fully able to design the hardware but may not have the software
development skills or tools necessary to write the program that drives the hardware. This is a
perfect time to call VIS.
- Reverse Engineering: Often the customer needs to reverse engineer an existing product but
has a compelling legal reason that they themselves not see the original product reverse
engineered. VIS may be contracted to reverse engineer an existing product and
deliver the reverse engineered information in the format the customer desires: assembly language,
'C' code, psuedo code, flowcharts, etc. It is often preferable to receive the reverse engineering
in psuedo code or flowcharts and then have another company rewrite the software based on that
information. This normally protects the customer from any allegations that they used an existing
work to develop their product.
- Integrated Solutions: VIS has extensive experience not just with embedded development,
but also Windows-based and Internet-ready applications. If your project requires any combination
of embedded, Windows, or Internet-ready development, VIS is ready and capable of developing an
integrated solution.
When you contact VIS expressing your interest in our embedded development services, we will request
as much information as you can reasonably give us. We will readily sign NDAs to eliminate any risk that
may be perceived related to the outsourcing.
Once we have sufficient information, we will give you an up-front estimate for the development. We will
then work with you to put together a win-win contract that addresses the concerns of all involved.
